Drive along the spectacular Adriatic coast west of Dubrovnik passing the Elaphite archipelago and villages along the coast. The first stop is at Ston, where a spectacular 13th-century defensive wall surrounds the town and continues high up into the mountains. Don't miss the ancient saltpans that are still in use today. Continue past beautiful vineyards and small villages to the Peljesac Peninsula. You'll visit the cellar of the Milos family--famous for their vineyards in Ponikye. You are headed to Cavtat, with a palm-lined seashore and numerous cafés. During a short stop here, walk along the beautiful seafront promenade. Now, your coach will return you to Dubrovnik's Ploce Square at the eastern entrance of the Old Town. 8) Off the Beaten Track: Neretva River Delta Photo Safari Price Adult $109; Duration Approximately 8 hours Description This is an excursion for nature lovers, featuring coast, mountains and the Neretva River delta. During the drive along the Adriatic coast, you will pass the Elaphite islands and the lovely town of Ston. At Neum, you will make your first short stop in the Republic of Bosnia Herzegovinia, so you will have the opportunity to visit two countries during this excursion. Continue inland to the village of Opuzen to board a small boat known as a trupice, which will transport you to where the Neretva River delta forms a huge marsh with numerous birds, fishes and other species. Seasonal fruits will be served in the boats during the sail. After 45 minutes, the trupice will stop at an old Neretva house on the lakefront, converted to a restaurant that is accessible only by boat. There a lunch will be served.
